A personal project turned into ETSY shop + Instagram (DM orders). It first started as a solution to reduce the purchase of plastic toys in a season where my toddler's favorite character would only last a month before getting ditched for a new one. I began painting her favorite characters onto wooden peg dolls, which organically transitioned into receiving orders for families.

Over the duration of the shop, I maintained a 5-star status with glowing reviews and had grown a returning customer base.
Lasting Impression
Early on, I realized this world of custom dolls was a personal one. Orders ALWAYS came with a story. Stories about baby showers, the loss of a parent, incredible teachers, unions, accomplishments, dreams, the list goes on and on. Those stories drove me to give them my best.
The LEARNINGS
Here I got to focus on creative direction, sourcing, client relations + retention, setting expectations, hitting deadlines, packaging and shipping as a one woman shop.
